Our Godson Dylan

Baby Dylan was baptized today and guess who Laura and John picked to be his Godparents...David and me! We were so thrilled when we were asked and are very honored to be Dylan's Godmother and Godfather.
Dylan was a good boy during the ceremony and didn't hardly cry or anything. We took some pictures with him at the church and then after the actual baptism, Laura and John had a nice dinner for all the family back at their house. They had a great turnout for the party, even Granny and Grandpa came in from Florida and Ashley was home from Cali. It was really nice to see everyone.

Here are some pictures of the event and the man of the hour...

Game Night with The Martins

Last night we went to Julie and Brian's house to hang out. It was a really fun night and one we have decided to repeat on a monthly basis. Julie put out some snacky foods (YUM!) and had Grape Splashes ready for us (my new favorite drink!) and we let Ally and Jilly play for awhile before feeding them and putting them down to sleep. While Julie and I put the girls to bed, Brian and David got into a little Battleship match (it is important to note that Brian would like a rematch very soon!...I feel he would want me to add that) and then after both littles were nestled comfortably in bed, we broke out the Yahtzee game! I have not played this in years, but it was a lot of fun. We ended up playing until almost one in the morning at which point we decided it was time to call it a night because Julie was already half asleep on the couch and David could only keep about half an eye open. I think Julie won and I know David was the loser (sorry honey...that first round just killed ya!) of the evening. We will have a rematch soon and hopefully David can redeem himself. Thanks to the Martins for having us over~it was a super-fun night! We always love hanging out with you guys...next time is at our place!!

Visiting Mommy at Work

My mom and sister were both off work today, so they brought Ally and Dylan to my office to see all my co-workers (who have been very hostile lately about not getting to see the babies! :-)) and then we had lunch at Bob Evans. It was so much fun and I think playing with little ones was a nice change of pace for everyone at my office. They were all so sweet with Ally and Dylan.
Both littles were perfect angels at lunch and we all got a good laugh at Ally "eating" her lunch. So glad you gals and guy came to visit!

Here are a few pictures of the attempt to get pictures of the cousins later in the day... :-)

Hanging out with Cousin D

Today we hung out with Grandma C., Aunt Laura and Cousin Dylan. We didn't do a whole lot, just hung out and made a trip to Home Depot to help my mom pick out a light for the kitchen. It was a nice day and Ally even got to take a ride on the "Grandma Plane"! She really enjoyed that! (see pictures below) :-)

This Kid is Made for Walkin'...

Ally has been giving it her all when it comes to crawling lately, but she still just seems more interested in standing and trying to walk. She gets up on her hands and knees and can move herself backwards and can go easily from sitting to crawling position, but she just doesn't seem to want to use that forward gear (I kind of think she is waiting until Aunt Ashley comes home in a couple weeks, so she can show off for her). She is standing without any help from us or anything else, on occasion for up to 5-10 seconds now and easily stands for a long time if holding on to something. She will try to take steps if you help her, so I think walking is in our near future. Here are a few pictures of her crawling attemps and of her standing in her pack-n-play...

More Valentine's Fun

Ally had a great Valentine's Day and I just wanted to share a couple extra pictures and events from the week leading up to it.

On Thursday, Ally's babysitter, Beth, had a little Valentine's party for the kids and they each brought Valentine's to give out. Ally's were Disney Pixar themed (Finding Nemo, Cars, Toy Story, etc.) and she even gave one to Harvey (Beth's husband, who Ally adores). As usual, Beth had a nice little party for the kids and Ally came home with cookies and Valentine's and a sucker almost as big as her head! Here are a few pics Daddy took of Ally all dressed up in the morning before they left for Beth's (including the picture where Ally is "holding" the chocolate rose we got Beth...in her mouth...Daddy thought he was pretty funny with that one). Obviously by the looks of a couple pictures it was still very early and Ally was just starting to wake up. :-)

After the party at Beth's house, Grandma C. picked Ally up for me and met me at her house, once I got off work. Grandma and Grandpa had a cute little outfit for Ally for Valentine's Day. Ally seemed slightly more interested in the gift bag it came in, but mommy LOVED the outfit and can't wait to put Ally in it when it warms up a bit.
